My parents have a huge back yard. On any given day you can see you can see animals ranging from beautiful red cardinals to a family of deer. My dad likes to feed the birds and apparently the squirrels as well. This little guy just dove right in the bucket with the corn and popped his head out every once and awhile.

Knicks game
So this post is a little late as I am recovering from a great in NYC. I attended my first Knicks game last night with my brother Kris and friends Nikki and Brandon. Madison Square Garden is always amazing and the game was a blast! Even though it was bitter cold, I have officially fallen back in love with the greatest city in the world.

Hockey
My brother Kris has played hockey since he was a kid. At 26 he still loves the game and manages to get on the ice a few times a week. His games are always a lot of fun to watch and even more fun to shoot.

A pretty uneventful day....
Well day 2 was not so eventful-lots of dog bathing and christmas shopping! Today's photo is my parents light up deer that they put out every holiday season. My dog, Buddy, finds them rather fascinating. Every time I let him out at night he goes over to the deer, smells them and runs away quickly! So quickly I could not get him in the shot! Oh well, better luck tomorrow!

A photo a day...
I have always loved photos. I can remember being a child and waiting anxiously for prints to arrive back from the drugstore. What will they look like? Did one of my brothers make a silly face? Whose head got cut off? Where did that bright light come from? Is that all the pictures I took? Those days of anxiously waiting are gone thanks to digital cameras but I still find myself wondering what happened to all those photos I took? Sadly last May I remembered where all my photos went-on my crashed hard-drive! With the exception of an occasional print-out or facebook post most of my photos (and memories) remained prisoner in my laptop. While I can't retrieve those old photos I can start taking new ones ( and back up my hard-drive now and again). So the idea for this blog came about...for the next nine months or so I am in the unique position of being unemployed (voluntarily) and traveling the world with my husband, Jeff. I have decided that using my camera daily (if even for only a few minutes) will make me a better photographer and capture some of our adventures along the way. While our traveling adventures don't start until January I will start posting today (gotta get into the swing of things) and hopefully iron-out any kinks.
